Pacific Medical Buildings to open new MOB at Huntington Memorial Hospital
190,000 SQUARE FOOT FACILITY WILL HOUSE AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER
PASADENA, Calif., May 13, 2009 – San Diego-based healthcare real estate developer, Pacific Medical Buildings (PMB), will open a new medical office building (MOB) this summer on the campus of Huntington Memorial Hospital.
PMB was chosen by Huntington to develop the project when it wanted to build additional medical office and outpatient services space for a women’s center, full-service oncology, imaging and an ambulatory surgery center. Located at 625 Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, Calif., the 190,000 square foot Huntington Pavilion is the first new outpatient services building to be developed on the hospital’s campus in more than 20 years.
"We are pleased PMB responded to the need for additional medical office space in Pasadena and developed the Huntington Pavilion,” says Bernadette Merlino, Vice President Ambulatory Service Line Development, Huntington Hospital. This building's close proximity to Huntington Hospital allowed us to place our outpatient services under one roof. PMB has partnered with us to create an atmosphere that will contribute to the outstanding experience we want for our patients."
The multi-level building is a combination of three and four-story elements featuring twin lobbies and a six-story, 700-space parking structure. Construction started in fall 2007 and the expected completion date is July 1, 2009.
“We’re proud of the new Huntington Pavilion and were grateful for the opportunity to develop additional medical office space for a highly regarded hospital like Huntington Memorial,” says James Rohan, Senior Vice President, Development at PMB. “Because the facility is located on one of the busiest intersections in Pasadena, it truly serves as a new gateway to the Huntington campus.”
Along with physician practices, the hospital is a major tenant in the building. The facility is currently 65 percent leased with an additional 15 percent of the space under negotiation.
