SAN DIEGO, CA – October 21, 2009 – Pacific Medical Buildings (PMB), a leading developer of outpatient healthcare facilities and hospital-based parking structures, is developing three new medical office buildings (MOBs) and one parking structure in and around Southern Calif.
“We are very excited about these three upcoming developments because there are some very interesting aspects to these projects,” says James Rohan, Senior VP, Development, PMB. “Two of the MOBs will be LEED Silver certified and be anchored 100 percent by large medical groups. And the Yorba Linda building, which will be jointly owned by physician investors and the hospital system, is unique because it features on-stage/off-stage model practice facility design.”
In Yorba Linda, PMB was selected to develop an 88,000 square foot MOB for the St. Jude Heritage Medical Group. In addition to primary care and multi-specialty medical offices, the building will house imaging and urgent care centers. Construction will start on the facility in November of 2009. The MOB’s design will promote maximum employee productivity and efficiency, and will also encompass best practices for patient flow and platinum patient concierge practices.
Early in 2011, PMB will start construction on a 60,000 square foot MOB and a 320-space parking structure. The facility is being developed in conjunction with the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group which will be the owner and sole tenant in the San Diego building.
Another new medical office building is planned for Castro Valley on the campus of Eden Medical Center which is owned by the Sutter Health System. Construction will start on the 80,000 square foot facility in 2011. PMB will construct, own and manage the new MOB.
In addition to the three new projects, PMB was recently awarded a contract to manage eight medical office buildings in Louisiana comprising 400,000 square feet. This contract brings the company’s total amount of managed medical office space to more than 3 million square feet across seven states.
